iOS app development

Native iPhone apps built in Swift and SwiftUI, from first sketch through App Store release.

A native app is the right call when your product needs the things a website cannot do well: push notifications people actually see, offline access, camera and location, and the smoothness users expect from something on their home screen.

I build iOS apps in Swift and SwiftUI, Apple's own tools, which means the app feels like it belongs on the platform rather than a website wrapped in an app icon.

If your idea would work just as well as a fast mobile website, I will say so. That is usually cheaper and quicker, and it is a better answer than selling you an app you did not need.

What you get

  • Native Swift and SwiftUIBuilt with Apple's own frameworks, so it performs and behaves like a real iOS app.
  • Designed for iPhoneLayouts, gestures and navigation that match what iOS users already expect.
  • Backend and API workAccounts, data sync, and server-side logic built alongside the app, not bolted on.
  • TestFlight betaYou and your testers use the real app on real devices before anything ships.
  • App Store submissionI handle the listing, screenshots, privacy details and the review process.
  • Source code is yoursFull project files handed over. You are not tied to me to keep developing it.

How it works

01

Scope the idea

We work out what the app actually needs to do in version one, and what can wait.

02

Fixed quote

You get a scope, timeline and price before any code is written.

03

Build and test

I build it and put it on TestFlight so you can use it on your own phone as it develops.

04

Submit and launch

I prepare the App Store listing and take it through Apple's review.

Common questions

How much does an iOS app cost?

An MVP with core features starts around $2,500. A full App Store launch with polished UI, offline support and push notifications starts around $6,000. Apps involving accounts, payments or heavy data work run higher. You get a fixed quote after we scope it properly.

How long does it take?

An MVP takes from about 3 weeks. A full App Store launch takes from about 5 weeks, plus Apple's review time, which is usually a few days. Complex apps take longer and I will tell you honestly rather than promise a date I cannot hit.

Do I need an Apple Developer account?

Yes, and it should be in your name so you own the app listing. It costs $99 a year, paid to Apple directly. I will walk you through setting it up if you have not done it before.

Do you build Android apps too?

My focus is native iOS. If you need both platforms, a well-built web app is often a better use of the budget than two separate native apps, and I am happy to talk that through honestly.

Would a web app be cheaper?

Often yes. If your app does not need push notifications, offline use, or heavy device features, a fast mobile-optimised web app costs less and reaches everyone regardless of phone. I will recommend it if it genuinely fits.

What happens after launch?

Every project includes post-launch support for fixes. Ongoing updates, new features and App Store maintenance can be covered by a monthly care plan or quoted as you need them.
